Privacy Policy
Italmente is part of Italmente s.r.l. This privacy policy will explain how our organization uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.
What data do we collect?
Our company collects the following data:
- Personal identification information you provide (Name, email address, phone number, etc.)
- Your study record (lessons attendance, progress, test results)
- Recordings of group lessons you take part in (video, audio, shared screen and display name) — see Group lesson recordings below
- How you use and interact with our website (pages viewed, clicks, scrolling and pointer movement, device and browser type) — see Website analytics and session replay below
How do we collect your data?
You directly provide Italmente with most of the data we collect.
We collect data and process data when you:
- Register online or place an order for any of our products or services.
- Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email.
- Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.
- Attend our lessons and complete tests.
Italmente may also receive your data indirectly from third party agencies.
How do we store your data?
Italmente securely stores your data online and will not delete it unless requested by you. The one exception is group lesson recordings, which are deleted automatically after a limited period — see Group lesson recordings below.
Marketing
Italmente would like to send you information about products and services of ours that we think you might like. If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date. You have the right at any time to stop Italmente from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your data to other partners. If you no longer wish to be contacted for marketing purposes, please let us know at info@italmente.it.
SMS and WhatsApp messaging
If you provide your mobile number and tick the messaging-consent box on one of our forms, a member of the Italmente team may contact you by SMS or WhatsApp about your request — for example to arrange or confirm a trial lesson, or to answer a question you asked. Consent is entirely optional and is never a condition of requesting a lesson or of any purchase. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply.
You can stop these messages at any time: for SMS, reply STOP; for WhatsApp, reply STOP or block the number. Reply HELP for help. Your mobile number and messaging consent are used only so that we can reply to you and are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. To opt out by email instead, contact info@italmente.it.
If you send us an image or a PDF document over WhatsApp as part of a conversation with our team, we keep it for 12 months and then automatically erase it.
Group lesson recordings
Group lessons may be recorded so that students enrolled in the group can rewatch them afterwards. A recording captures the video, audio, any shared screen and the display names of everyone taking part, for the duration of the lesson. Recording is never silent: a countdown is shown before it starts, and a recording indicator stays visible on screen for the whole time it is running.
Recordings are stored encrypted on Microsoft Azure servers located in the European Union, and can be viewed only by students enrolled in that group and by Italmente staff. Each viewing link is short-lived and personal to the viewer.
Recordings are automatically and permanently deleted 42 days after the lesson. We keep them for this limited period only so that students can catch up on a lesson they missed or revise recent material.
Because a recording is a single combined video of everyone present, we cannot remove one participant from it — if you ask us to delete your data from a recording, the whole recording is erased for everyone. If you would prefer not to appear in a recording, you may turn off your camera and microphone, or ask us before the lesson. To make a request about a recording, contact info@italmente.it.
What are your data protection rights?

- The right to access – You have the right to request Italmente for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

Cookies
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information.
When you visit our websites, we may collect information from you automatically through cookies or similar technology.
For further information, visit allaboutcookies.org.
How do we use cookies?
Italmente uses cookies in a range of ways to improve your experience on our website, including:
- Keeping you signed in
- Understanding how you use our website
- Functional behavior of the website such as, not limited to, storing information about the selected courses you may want to purchase (cart functionality).
What type of cookies do we use?
There are a number of different types of cookies, however, our website uses:
- Functionality – Italmente uses these cookies so that we recognize you on our website and remember your previously selected preferences. These could include what language you prefer and location you are in. A mix of first-party and third-party cookies are used.
- Advertising – Italmente uses these cookies to collect information about your visit to our website, the content you viewed, the links you followed and information about your browser, device, and your IP address. Italmente sometimes shares some limited aspects of this data with third parties for advertising purposes. We may also share online data collected through cookies with our advertising partners. This means that when you visit another website, you may be shown advertising based on your browsing patterns on our website.
- Analytics and session replay – Italmente uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our website. Clarity sets two first-party cookies — _clck, which stores a pseudonymous Clarity user ID for our site, and _clsk, which links the pages you view into a single session — and a number of Microsoft third-party cookies (CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, SM) which identify a browser across sites that use Microsoft services, for analytics, operational and advertising purposes. These cookies are not essential to the operation of the website and are set only if you allow them — see Website analytics and session replay below.
- Third-party - Italmente uses third-party cookies that are necessary to allow the functionality of our online Italian quizzes, which are created by us but owned by the website proprofs.com. Italmente declines any responsibility for any use Proprofs may make of cookies acquired through our platform.
How to manage cookies
You can set your browser not to accept cookies, and the above website tells you how to remove cookies from your browser. However, in a few cases, some of our website features may not function as a result.
Website analytics and session replay
We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay, in order to improve and market our products and services. Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of our products and services and to understand online activity. We also use this information for site optimisation, fraud and security purposes, and advertising.
A session replay is a reconstruction of a visit, rebuilt from the pages you opened, where you moved your pointer, what you clicked and how far you scrolled. It is not a video of you and it never uses your camera or microphone. Text you type into form fields and input boxes is masked by Microsoft and is never sent to Clarity, and page content is suppressed by default. This is entirely separate from the group lesson recordings described above, which are genuine audio/video recordings and are governed by that section.
Microsoft stores this data on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and acts as an independent data controller for it. Within the EU this service is contracted through Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, which relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for any transfer to Microsoft Corporation in the United States. Session recordings are retained by Microsoft for 30 days; a favourited or randomly sampled subset, and aggregated heatmap data, may be kept for up to 9 months. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, please visit the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Your choices. These cookies are set only if you accept non-essential cookies. You can change your mind at any time through the Cookies Preferences link at the bottom of every page — if you withdraw your permission, Clarity deletes its cookies from your browser and continues without them. You may also opt out of Microsoft's behavioural telemetry across every site that uses Clarity through the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page (select Microsoft), and Clarity honours the Global Privacy Control browser signal. Clarity does not currently respond to the browser "Do Not Track" setting.

Google Calendar Integration
When you connect your Google Calendar to Italmente, you authorize us to read your calendar events and create events on your behalf for lesson scheduling, using only the calendar you select.
Scope Disclosure
We request the following OAuth scopes from your Google account, each serving a specific purpose in enabling the Italmente integration:
-
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.calendarlist.readonly
We use this to fetch the list of your subscribed calendars, allowing you to select which calendar to use during the Google Calendar integration setup. This access is read-only and limited to calendar metadata only. -
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events.owned
We use this to create, modify, and delete lesson-related events in calendars that you own. This allows us to manage your lesson scheduling directly within your personal calendar. -
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events.owned.readonly
We use this to display your existing events in calendars that you own, to help you avoid scheduling conflicts while viewing or booking lessons.
No additional permission scopes are requested.
Data Sharing Policy
We do not share your Google Calendar data with any third parties for any purposes beyond delivering lesson scheduling features.
Data Protection Measures
All data transfers occur over HTTPS with TLS encryption. OAuth authorization tokens are securely stored and are immediately deleted when you revoke consent or disconnect the integration.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain authorization tokens only as long as needed to support lesson scheduling and to refresh access (if applicable). Upon disconnecting the integration, all associated tokens are deleted promptly.
Your Rights & Contact Information
You may disconnect the integration at any time from your account settings. To request deletion of stored data or for any privacy-related inquiries, contact us at info@italmente.it.
